An Italian folk tale, a variant of the widespread the animal bridegroom motif. My telling is based on the version found in Italian Folktales (Italo Calvino, 1956).
The recording was made at the halbNeun Theater in 2019, where I had the pleasure of being accompanied by fellow storyteller and harper Peter Wucherpfennig. Too good an opportunity to miss, this recording follows the tale with Peter’s wonderful music.
